Moto Racer 4 for PC, PS4 and XONE is the fourth full-fledged installment in a series of classic motorcycle racing games. The first three installments were created by Delphine Software (the studio does not exist anymore) and released in the years 1997-2001. Moto Racer 4 was created in cooperation between Microids - a legendary French company, and Artefacts Studio, which is popular mainly for such titles as Gods vs Humans or Moto Racer (2008) for Nintendo DS. All the works were supervised by Paul Cuisett – the main designer of the original game.

Mechanics

When it comes to the mechanics, Moto Racer 4 remains faithfull to the gameplay patterns of the classic installments, thus the players receive a dynamic racing game which is arcade in terms of the implemented riding physics. Also, fair-play rivalry should not be expected. The player takes part in subsequent motorcycle events which come in two main variants - motocross (off-road) and traffic; different factors were taken into account, such as road traffic or collisions with opponents. Within these two gameplay variants, the player will find a wide set of characters – each of them represents a unique riding style. The game offers many motorcycle models created specifically for particular kinds of competition: from classic cross bikes to high-power machines belonging to the superbike category. What is generally expected nowadays, the game offers an extensive customization component - both the riders and bikes can undergo changes here.

Game modes

Similar to the classic installments, Moto Racer 4 for PC, PS4 and XONE was designed to deliver both singleplayer and multiplayer kinds of experience. This time however, the game features more than several game modes, which is quite impressive. The main modes here are Time Trial, Single Race and Championship. Among those completely new, the player will find King of the Hill, Last Man Standing, Survival. Catch-Up, Wolf Pack, Ghost Bike or Golden Helmet. In terms of the multiplayer, both the classic split-screen rivalry for two players and an online experience are available. When enjoying the game online, up to 10 players can meet in one session.
